In late September, Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards testified before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform for five hours. Chairman Jason Chaffetz chose not to spend the committee’s time discussing the fact that Planned Parenthood harvests and sells the organs of the children they kill. Instead, the committee focused on Planned Parenthood’s finances.
Frustrating though that may be, one extremely important admission came from Richards’ testimony: Planned Parenthood does not provide mammograms. None. Zilch. Zero.
The testimony is damning:
REP. CYNTHIA LUMMIS: Thank you, Ms. Richards, for being with us today. My first question is, how many Planned Parenthood clinics have mammogram machines?
CECILE RICHARDS: There aren’t any Planned Parenthood clinics—I believe, to the best of my knowledge, not any have mammogram machines at their facility.
“We’ve never stated that we did” provide mammograms, Richards said later, contradicting her own claims. As recently as 2011, Richards claimed that the organization does in fact provide mammograms to women.
The truth – which Planned Parenthood has tried to conceal and about which their allies in Congress have lied – is that Planned Parenthood is not around to provide healthcare to disadvantaged women. Planned Parenthood is around and receiving your tax dollars so that it can perform abortions, and in some cases, keep babies alive just long enough to harvest their organs.
This most recent admission is yet another reason why Congress should immediately defund Planned Parenthood. But more to the point, it shows conclusively that all the people telling you Planned Parenthood is essential for women’s health have been lied to. They are dupes who are unwittingly part of a scam. They need to be told the truth.
