Paul Manafort's Guilty Plea

So in an effort to avoid the 300 years of jail time Mueller is seeking against him, Paul Manafort just pled guilty to two crimes that have absolutely nothing to do with Donald Trump or with the 2016 election.

When Mueller got Cohen to plead, Cohen pled guilty to seven counts of matters completely unrelated to Donald Trump or to 2016, and one count of something that turns out not to even be a crime (which Mueller will get away with, because when you plead guilty, no judge or jury will ever rule on the matter). It's that last, bogus plea that Mueller hopes to use to fabricate an impeachment case against Trump, pretending he committed a campaign finance violation that doesn't exist.

Expect something like that with Manafort. But later: not today. There's nothing in this plea deal about Donald Trump, period.
