My guess is the upshot is that nihilism is a somewhat bankrupt world view that may offer an individual some level of solace temporarily, but is unsustainable for a culture or society. I think the attraction is it validates someone's desire to do whatever they want and damn the consequences.

I think that’s what they are selling in the Universities. I lost my 44 year old son to this ‘cancer’. I pray everyday for him to wake up.
