The markets (which nosedived for a day) might believe in China's DeepSeek potential but I don't believe a word of what's coming out of China. Ever.

That's generally correct. However, whether or not DeepSeek is as it's claimed to be, it certainly points the way to much more efficient AI software.

And as I said in my X thread, that doesn't mean Nvidia is worth less: it means it's going to sell a LOT more, as the rate of AI adoption accelerates. Lower price = more demand.

Well stated. AI seems to be a condensing tool, finding bits of information on a topic and regurgitating them in a coherent form. Saves time when researching a subject. But computers do not have the abilities of the human mind and body to actually conceive new thoughts. AI seems to be only as smart as it’s input.

It has already massively improved my productivity. But it does not, and cannot, replace my creativity. So I end up spending my time on much higher-value tasks and a lot less knucklehead stuff.

You might think that would mean I'd want to cut some staff. Quite the opposite: I want to give them AI tools so they're all this much more productive!
