Blue Origin has an engine factory in my hometown but I'm pulling for Space X to continue their domination.

I would love to see Blue Origin kick into gear. What a boon that would be for the world.

But I'm not going to hold my breath. They've been at it since before Elon started, and in the beginning they even had a big monetary lead. What's come of it?

Blue Origin seems to be occupying the middle ground between Virgin Galactic and Space X. As long as Jeff Bezos maintains his network of friends and officials in high places, he'll be able to secure lucrative government contracts at the expense of Space X. For example, since Blue Origin has an engine factory in Huntsville, Alabama, Blue Origin will benefit from the political power and backing of the U.S. Senators and Congressmen and Congresswomen from Alabama. Now that Trump is President, we're anticipating the U.S. Space Force to relocate to Huntsville from Colorado. And the FBI Headquarters might move here too. So as long as Blue Origin is plugged into Huntsville (which has the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center and the U.S Army Redstone Arsenal), Blue Origin has powerful friends. I totally agree with you that we would pass out if we held our breath waiting for Blue Origin to catch up with Space X. It won't happen in the next 20 years, if ever, but I do think there's enough business to go around for both Space X and Blue Origin to survive.
