BREAKING: Latest polling on Kavanaugh. A whopping 48% now have a favorable opinion, including 36% “Very Favorable”, which is up 10 full points from two weeks ago. 79% of Republicans have an overwhelmingly favorable opinion of him, while even 24% of Democrats like him too.

87% say that the Kavanaugh vote is important to their vote in November. 40% say they’re more likely to vote for a Senator who votes for him, vs. 37% less likely, which is roughly the same as two weeks ago. BUT while that number was 50% of Republicans earlier this month, it’s jumped to 66% of Republicans now, which is very dangerous for Democrat Senators Jon Tester (D-MT), Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND) and Joe Manchin (D-WV): if they vote no, they will probably lose their re-elects this November.

Interestingly enough, while men have a more favorable opinion of Kavanaugh than women, the margin is very small: 52% vs. 45%.

Oh, and most agree with McConnell’s decision to go forward with a vote no matter what.

All of this is very bad news for Democrats. They failed.

(The survey of 1,000 Likely Voters I’ve cited was conducted by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.)
